Following my own personal battles with a compromised immune system & breast cancer. After enduring chemotherapy & experiencing neutropenic sepsis twice, I underwent a mastectomy and a problematic reconstruction. This was followed by radiotherapy. Totally wiped out, I embarked on a mission to revive my body and find a better way forward. On top of the Crohn's and Cancer, I was diagnosed with lymphangioleiomyomatosis, a rare metastatic cancer-like disease the day my breast was taken off. I have lots and lots of growths and holes in both my lungs, the disease is progressive and as of yet, has no cure. This journey, brought me here. I studied to be a naturopath and a pain management practitioner and with a deeper understanding borne from research, education and experience, I stand beside you with hope for the future. Good Luck & Good Health Claire - Louise
I'm going to talk about an ugly subject..breast cancer...I am sending a warning as I have recently been through the whole traumatic process. Ladies please, if you have left sided breast cancer do NOT have radiotherapy...the result is your heart gets cooked and the damage grows with time. If you survive the cancer, and the 15 year reduction on your life span ( a side effect of T-FEC chemo is it ages you 15 yrs) you are likely to die from heart failure , research the stats. If you get a diagnosis, do not be railroaded. You get no time to consider treatment before it begins. I had a reconstruction of my chest at the same time as mastectomy, using my latissimus dorsi muscle and an implant, this is way way too much for the body to deal with and it will hinder your fight back to health massively. Mine has now been deconstructed and the pain in my chest has alleviated. Don't let fear, stop you from having some thinking time
Frankincense oil has been shown to fight cancer in that it can actively break down the cancer cells in the body. Frankincense has been used for centuries in natural cures and remedies and is derived from the Olibanum tree.
Frankincense is also known for it’s other properties such as anti-inflammatory astringent antiseptic digestive disinfectant expectorant
Dr. Hsueh-Kung Lin, an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Oklahoma has studies the essential oil and has found it to fight against various types of cancers including colon, breast and brain cancer. The research showed that it creates cell death in bladder tumours and breast cancers without harming any of the healthy cells. Sacred Frankincense oil was shown to stop the onset of signal faults in cells which lead to tumors in the first place. In addition to this, researchers at Baylor University in Dallas found that Frankincense oil promotes healing in genes, making it an effective treatment and preventative all in one. Immunologist Mahmoud Suhail has said of Frankincense oil “Cancer starts when the DNA code within the cell’s nucleus becomes corrupted. It seems frankincense has a re-set function. It can tell the cell what the right DNA code should be.
Frankincense separates the ‘brain’ of the cancerous cell – the nucleus – from the ‘body’ – the cytoplasm, and closes down the nucleus to stop it reproducing corrupted DNA codes.”

"The findings of Doctor Campbell, show us that the consumption of animal products activates cancer cells. We can also learn that the reduction of the intake of meat lowers the risk of cancer. Let us explain: a diet rich in proteins increases the proliferation of cancer cells and provides oxygen to free radicals, which are often the cause of cancer. The results of Doctor Campbell’s study indicate that the cure for cancer is – believe or not – in plants."
Foods That Lower Estrogens
carrots, sweet potatoes, melon, squash or mango Beta-carotene and chemically-related carotenoid compounds are effective in reducing the growth of estrogen receptor positive and negative breast tumor cells. High levels of beta-carotene are associated with up to 50 percent reduction in the risk of breast cancer.
Soybean and related soy products are high in phytoestrogens, plant estrogens with weak activity in humans. These weaker estrogens appear to bind to the estrogen receptor on breast and ovarian cells and block the stronger human form of estrogen from binding. Overall this leads to lower levels of estrogen in the body and a reduced cancer risk.
Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, sauerkraut, oats, whole grain, celery, apples, berries, oatmeal, nuts and seeds and any kind of bean. flax seed, turnips, lemons, limes, spinach, leafy greens and Brussels sprouts.
AVOID COFFEE - only one cup of coffee per day could increase estrogen levels, and more than four cups of coffee raised the level 70 percent higher than the one cup level.
When it comes to immunity & the prevention or fighting of cancer cells we need to take a closer look at T-cells.
T-cells are defined as a lymphocyte (white blood cell) of a type produced or processed by the thymus gland and actively participating in the immune response. These cells are especially active in the lymphatic system which spans the entire body. Having your t-cells active and engaged, working properly helps to reduce the risk of infection & disease. The healthier your t-cells are the healthier & faster your immune system can respond to any incoming threats.
Thankfully there are nutritionally backed, scientifically researched ways to enhance your T-cells & improve immune response & effectiveness. Keep in mind that the nutrients & herbs below not only activate T-cells for preventing and fighting cancer cells but also to strengthen immunity against the cold, flu, infection or other diseases.
3 Ways To Activate Cancer Fighting T-Cells
Vitamin C & D Vitamin C & D are both tremendously valuable vitamins for the expression of the immunity & for allowing t-cells to be healthy. Vitamin C was proven to promote the maturation of t-cells in a study. Not only does vitamin C enhance t-cells but it plays a role in producing antibodies. It also plays a role in producing cells that kill invaders & cells that coordinate those attacks. It is important for cellular immune health. The best sources of vitamin C are from all the peppers, limes, lemons, camu camu berry & goji berries. Vitamin D is important as well. T-cells don’t work well unless your vitamin D receptor sites are activated. T-cells won’t activate and be used without enough vitamin D. You can increase your T-cell responsiveness by 750% by getting enough vitamin D in your body. Being in direct sunshine without sunblock is best because your body makes vitamin D from the sun exposure. If you live in the north and the winter influences how much sun you get each day, it’s best to get at least 3,000-5,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily. Some people take as much as 10,000 IU if they know they’re deficient & don’t have the opportunity to get much sunlight in the climate
Get Selenium in Your Diet Selenium is an essential trace-mineral that is all too often overlooked. Studies have found that selenium increases the effectiveness of cancer fighting T-cells & makes them more powerful in doing so.You don’t need too much selenium on a daily basis but it may be difficult to get in food form, especially if you’re a vegeterian or vegan. It’s not found in as many foods as more common nutrients. Based on the research it seems that up to 200 mcg a day can be taken. We don’t recommend going above 200 mcg daily though, as this is too much for your body. You can get it in food form such as from a few Brazil nuts each day. Other sources include eggs, fish & mushrooms..
Una De Gato (Cat’s Claw Herb) Una De Gato (Cat’s claw in english, or Uncaria Tomentosa in Latin) is a herb that comes from the Amazon Rainforest. It is known to benefit immune health as well as cardiovascular health. As far as immunity is concerned this is a true powerhouse herb. The health benefits are so powerful that it’s finally being studied to see what it can do against cancer. So far the discoveries are finding that cat’s claw turns on T-cells & uses them against multiple diseases. Cat’s claw (Una De Gato) seems to stop cancer from spreading from what we can tell. Una De Gato is also an incredibly effective immunomodulator. This simply means that Cat’s Claw helps to regulate the immune system.
This “regulation” is a normalization process, so that an immunomodulator helps to optimize immune response. There you have it. Get more vitamin C and Vitamin D in your diet, or supplement routine. Make sure you get food or supplement form of selenium daily. Utilize the powerful immune modulating and T-cell enhancing effects of the Una De Gato (cat’s claw) herb from the amazon rainforest.
Cancer is a disease characterized by growth of abnormal cells that harm the body in various ways.
There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast, skin, ovarian, lung, pancreatic, colon, prostate and lymphoma. Each cancer has a different set of symptoms.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), new cancer cases are expected to rise by about 70 percent over the next 15 to 20 years.
A few factors known to increase your risk of cancer include aging, excessive smoking, excessive alcohol intake, excessive exposure to the sun, obesity, exposure to harmful chemicals, secondhand smoke & genetics. While you cannot control hereditary & some environmental factors, you can still lower your risk of cancer by making healthy diet & lifestyle choices.
A well-planned diet can help prevent many cancers. In fact, there are many superfoods rich in antioxidants & phytochemicals that offer anti-cancer benefits.
Here are some cancer-fighting Superfoods
Broccoli Eat your broccoli to reduce the risk of cancer. This cruciferous vegetable contains compounds called glucosinolates, which produce protective enzymes in the body. One of these enzymes is sulforaphane that helps reduce cancer risk by flushing out cancer-causing chemicals. Sulforaphane also targets cancer stem cells that aid in tumor growth. A study by scientists concluded that sulforaphane in broccoli helps prevent cancer. Broccoli is effective in protecting against mouth, breast, liver, lung, bladder, esophageal & stomach cancers. Eat about 2 cups of broccoli, boiled or steamed, 2 or 3 times per week
Green Tea Green tea is a popular beverage that can help reduce the risk of various cancers. The compounds found in green tea, such as catechins, xanthine derivatives, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and epicatechin, help prevent the development of cancerous cells. Green tea even helps prevent free radicals from damaging cells. Green tea demonstrates protective effects on gastrointestinal, breast, lung & prostate cancers. However, more prospective studies are needed. Drink 3 to 4 cups of green tea daily to reap its anti-cancer benefits. You can even take green tea extracts after consulting your doctor.
Tomatoes This juicy fruit is a good source of lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps fight cancer. Lycopene boosts the immune system & protects cells from damage. It also stops abnormal cell growth. In addition, it is a good source of vitamins A, C & E, which prevent free-radical damage in the body. Vitaminology, researchers found that men who ate more tomatoes |& tomato-based products, both raw and cooked, were less likely to develop prostate cancer. Tomatoes are also effective at reducing the risk of endometrial, breast, lung & stomach cancers. Eat 1 cup of sliced tomatoes on a daily basis. To enjoy the maximum anti-cancer benefits, also include tomato sauce, paste & juice in your diet.
Blueberries Blueberries are rich in cancer-fighting phytonutrients and antioxidants. These berries neutralize free radicals that can damage cells and lead to diseases including cancer. They also contain vitamins C and K, manganese & dietary fiber, which also helps in lowering cancer risk. These berries help reduce the risk of different types of cancer, including mouth, ovarian, colon, liver, prostate, lung, skin & breast. To reap the anti-cancer benefits, eat ½ to 1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries daily.
Ginger Ginger also helps reduce the risk of various types of cancers. Its antioxidant property inhibits the growth of cancerous cells. A 2007 study demonstrates ginger’s ability to combat ovarian cancer. It works by blocking the cancer from growing, limiting its ability to spread. Ginger is effective in preventing prostate cancer. This superfood can also prevent the onset of colorectal, lung, breast, skin & pancreatic cancers. Drink 2 to 3 cups of ginger tea daily & include ginger in your cooking. If you prefer to take a supplement, always consult your doctor first.
Garlic Garlic contains components like sulfur as well as arginine, oligosaccharides, flavonoids & selenium, all of which may be beneficial to reduce the risk of various cancers. Regular garlic intake can slow down the progression of cancerous cell growth There is a protective association between raw garlic intake & lung cancer. High intake of raw or cooked garlic imparts a protective effect against stomach & colorectal cancers. For anti-cancer benefits, raw & cooked garlic are more effective than garlic supplements. So, start eating garlic to prevent this deadly disease.
Spinach Spinach is a rich source of lutein, an antioxidant that plays a key role in guarding against cancer. In addition, the zeaxanthin & carotenoids in spinach protect your body from free-radical damage. The beta-carotene, vitamin A, folate & fiber in spinach also play a major role in preventing cancer.Regular intake of this dark green leafy vegetable can protect against mouth, ovarian, lung, endometrial, colorectal, esophageal & stomach cancers. Eat 1 cup of spinach a few times a week. Add it to your salad, soup, smoothie or mixed vegetable juice. As spinach is high in oxalic acid that can prevent the absorption of iron and calcium in the body, have a glass of orange juice or a tomato when you eat spinach. Avoid eating spinach if you are on an oxalate-restricted diet.
Pomegranate Another superfood that has anti-cancer benefits is pomegranate, which contains a good amount of antioxidants. This juicy fruit also has a mixture of phenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins & tannins that help modulate cellular biochemistry. Its polyphenols, in particular, help keep a check on various biological events involved in cancer pathogenesis and progression. Pomegranate is effective in reducing the risk of breast, colon, liver, skin & prostate cancers. Add this fruit to your morning cereal, smoothie, fruit salad or drink its juice to fight cancer.
Walnuts Another superfood that reduces the risk of cancer is walnuts. These healthy nuts contain a good amount of polyphenols and phytochemicals that have antioxidant properties. They also are rich in anti-cancer compounds, such as ellagitannins, gamma-tocopherol, and alpha-linolenic acid.
Research study shows that walnuts help prevent breast cancer in animals. They can also reduce the risk of prostate & skin cancer. Eat 1 ounce of walnuts daily (7 shelled walnuts) to reap the anti-cancer benefits. You can add walnuts to salads, soups or smoothies.
Grapes Both grapes as well as grape seed extracts are rich in the antioxidant resveratrol that offers anti-cancer benefits. It blocks the action of a protein that causes cancer growth. In addition, the anti-inflammatory properties of grapes prevent chronic oxidative stress & chronic inflammation, two main causes of cancer.
The polyphenols from muscadine grapes exhibit anti-cancer properties.
Eat a cup of grapes daily.

B17 - laetrile One of the greatest cover-ups in the history of cancer treatment, happens to be related to a little known (to the greater public) anti-cancer remedy and treatment known as Laetrile, which is also known as vitamin B17. One of the greatest concentrated sources of vitamin B17 can be found in the seed of fruit that many of us may have taken for granted: the apricot. The actual seed is found beneath the hard pit of the apricot. The anti-cancer agent found in the actual Laetrile B17 vitamin is known as amygdalin.
Cauliflower and Chia Seed Pizza Crust - Cancer Prevention see recipes and tips for full recipe ....
Pizza can be healthy too! Instead of a heavy & greasy pie crust, try cauliflower & chia seeds instead. Cauliflower is full of the vitamins that our bodies need and crave like thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid, omega-3’s & vitamin K. It also serves as a good source of vegetable protein, phosphorous & potassium .Cauliflower is very good for cancers such as breast, colon, prostate & ovarian. The cauliflower provides special nutrient support for several body systems that are closely connected with cancer prevention. It has certain compounds that help resist cancer & can eliminate cancer enzymes. Cauliflower contains sulforaphane, a sulphur compound that has been shown to kill cancer stem cells.
Cauliflower is also good for your heart, digestive system & it’s anti-inflammatory. Sulforaphane in cauliflower & other cruciferous vegetables has been found to signifigantly improve blood pressure and kidney function.
The delicious flowery vegetable is also full of choline, a B vitamin which is known for its role in brain development. Choline is very important during pregnancies & it may be able to diminish age-related memory decline.
Chia seeds also play a starring role in this deliciously healthy vegan crust. Chia seeds are tiny black seeds that are full of fiber, protein, calcium, iron & omega-3. They are loaded full of antioxidants that can fight the production of free radicals, which damage molecules in cells that contribute to ageing and horrible disease like cancer.
BLACK SEEDS ANTIOXIDANT & ANTI-INFLAMMATORY Black seeds have been employed for thousands of years as a spice and food preservative. Black seed oil and seed constituents have shown potential medicinal properties in traditional medicine. Scientific research provides clear evidence that both the oil & its active ingredients, such as thymoquinone, possess antioxidant effects. This is accomplished by enhancing the oxidant scavenger system, which has a detoxifying effect. The oil & thymoquinone have potent anti-inflammatory effects on several experimental models of inflammation. These include: encephalomyelitis (inflammation of the brain & spinal cord after infection) colitis (inflammation of the colon), peritonitis (inflammation of the membrane which lines the inside of the abdomen & all of the internal organs), edema (the swelling of soft tissues as a result of excess fluid accumulation), and arthritis. Black seed oil and certain of its active ingredients showed a beneficial ability to regulate the immune system. It supported T-cell and natural killer cell-mediated immune activity.
Most importantly, both black seed oil and its active ingredients expressed antimicrobial and anti-tumor properties toward different microbes and cancers.
Turmeric Turmeric on its own just doesn’t cut it. For one, it tastes severe. Plus, you need to make it more “bioavailable”– that is, available to be absorbed by the body. To do that, combine it with black pepper and a healthy fat and heat it. Here’s an easy recipe Ingredients 2 teaspoons ground turmeric 2 teaspoons ground cumin (to enhance flavor) 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (to enhance bioavailability) Salt to taste Instructions Whisk the spices together and keep them in a dry, dark place. When you’re ready to use them, mix with a little healthy fat–nut or seed butter, hummus, or onions sauteed in olive oil. (First, saute the onions in olive oil, then add the spice mixture to the onions when they’re close to translucent.) Although some compounds in turmeric are fat soluble, others are soluble in water. By heating turmeric, you’ll help those water-soluble compounds dissolve. Like many spices, turmeric inhibits your body’s production of NF-kappa B, considered the black knight of cancer because it protects cancer cells from your body’s defense mechanisms and helps them grow and spread. Caution: If you’re pregnant or taking drugs for breast cancer, talk to your doctor about using turmeric. If you have gallstones or bile duct problems, avoid it. Typical anticancer doses are up to three grams of good bioavailable curcumin extract, three to four times daily.
GcMaf GcMAF (Gc protein-derived macrophage activating factor) is a Vitamin D binding protein naturally found in the human body. The function of this protein is to activate, regulate & expand macrophages. Macrophages (M1 and M2) are involved in tissue repair & stimulate immune cells to respond to pathogens; attacking foreign substances, infectious microbes and cancer cells through destruction and ingestion. An enzyme in the human body, known as Nagalase, has been found to deactivate macrophage activity, thus suppressing the immune system. The Nagalase enzyme is released by tumor and virus-infected cells & has been reported to accumulate in the serum of cancer & HIV patients. High Nagalase levels have also been found in many autistic children.

Foods To Eat & Avoid AVOID ALL GM PRODUCE
Foods to feast on frequently - Cruciferous veggies Broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower & kale. They are all cancer-fighting stars in the produce department &several studies have linked them to a lower risk for colorectal, lung & stomach cancers. Research found that those who ate raw or lightly cooked cabbage & sauerkraut more than three times a week were 72 percent less likely to develop breast cancer than those who had 1.5 or fewer servings.
Experts suspect vegetables such as cabbage contain chemicals that turn on your body's natural detoxifying enzyme. How much to eat? You can't have too much, but five weekly half-cup servings is a reasonable goal. High-fiber anything Fiber's ability to keep things moving appears to have a protective effect not only on the colon (no surprise) but also on the breasts.
Researchers discovered that those who consumed more than 4.5 servings of whole grains daily had a 35% lower risk for colon cancer. Because fiber speeds the passage of stool through the colon, cells have less exposure to potentially carcinogenic waste. Roughage may also sop up excess estrogen and insulin, two hormones linked to breast cancer. How much to eat Aim for 25 grams (from food) a day. A half cup of a high-fiber cereal, such as All-Bran or Fiber One, can provide about half your daily dose. Beans, whole-grain breads with added fiber, fruit and veggies can help get you there, too.
Foods rich in vitamin D and calcium Your breasts and colon may get protection from this vitamin/mineral combo. Scientists who reviewed 10 studies found that those who consume high amounts of dairy products have a lower risk for colorectal cancer, likely because of calcium's protective effect. The two nutrients may also help ward off early breast cancer by suppressing the effects of hormones. How much to consume Women under 50 need 1,000 milligrams of calcium and at least 400 international units of vitamin D a day. Fortified milk and orange juice are good sources of both. Two foods to enjoy often Tomatoes and berries There's a bit of evidence that tomatoes and tomato products may reduce the risk for gastric, ovarian, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Lycopene, which gives tomatoes their red color, may help prevent cell damage. Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are rich in antioxidants, which protect against cell damage. How much to eat Make berries and tomatoes a part of your nine fruit & veggie servings a day. Sneak in extra amounts by tossing some berries on your cereal or ordering a little extra sauce for your pasta. Foods to cut back on Red and processed meat Still reluctant to trade your hot dog for a not dog? You may want to reconsider. Studies have found a strong connection between colon cancer and processed meat such as hot dogs and cold cuts, as well as beef, pork and lamb. Colon cancer isn't a carnivores-only concern. Women who downed 1.5 servings of meat a day had nearly twice the breast cancer risk of those who ate fewer than three servings per week. One possible reason? Carcinogens are created when meat is cooked at high temperatures as well as when it's processed with substances such as nitrates. How much to eat Think of meat as a side dish. Stick to less than 3 ounces of red meat a day & avoid charring as much as possible. Alcohol Disconcerting news for drinkers: Imbibing alcohol increases the risk of developing breast, colon, esophagus, mouth & throat cancers. Alcohol is one of the few dietary factors showing a clear and consistent relationship with breast cancer. Because binge drinking may have other negative health consequences, no divvying up your seven drinks over two days instead of seven. Fats Although experts agree that maintaining a diet low in saturated fat is smart all around, the research linking fat and cancer is controversial. Still, there is evidence suggesting that keeping fat intake low may offer some breast cancer protection. How much to eat No more than 30 % of your calories should come from fat. That's about 60 grams of fat for women eating 1,800 calories a day. Try to get most of your fat from healthy sources such as avocados, fish, nuts and olive oils. One food to watch carefully Soy Soy is generally good for you, but its exact relationship with breast cancer is still being sussed out. Studies in the lab show that breast cancer cells proliferate when exposed to isolated soy compounds, most likely because soy contains plant-based estrogens. In the body, however, these same phytoestrogens seem to be related to some reduction in risk. How much to eat About 20 grams or less daily. You'll be in the healthy range with a cup of tofu, three quarters of a cup of edamame, about half a cup of tempeh or a quarter cup of soy nuts. Vitamin D Women who took nearly three times the recommended amount of this nutrient, as well as about 1,500 milligrams of calcium, reduced their cancer risk by 77% according to a study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. For now, get at least 400 international units a day. Fortified milk & orange juice are good sources, but ask whether a supplement can help you make up the difference.

One diet soda a day increases leukemia, multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin lymphomas
The combined results of this new study showed that just one 12-fl oz. can (355 ml) of diet soda daily leads to: 42 percent higher leukemia risk in men and women (pooled analysis) 102 percent higher multiple myeloma risk (in men only) 31 percent higher non-Hodgkin lymphoma risk (in men only)
These results were based on multi-variable relative risk models, all in comparison to participants who drank no diet soda. It is unknown why only men drinking higher amounts of diet soda showed increased risk for multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Note that diet soda is the largest dietary source of aspartame (by far) in the U.S. Every year, Americans consume about 5,250 tons of aspartame in total, of which about 86 percent (4,500 tons) is found in diet sodas.
